Selah is not therapy or medical care

Selah is a faith-based educational and wellbeing tool. It offers reflection exercises informed by psychological frameworks (such as CBT, DBT, ACT, positive psychology, and trauma-informed principles) alongside study of Scripture and original Hebrew and Greek words.

Using Selah — including the AI Companion — does not create a therapist–client, doctor–patient, or any professional or clinical relationship. Selah does not, and is not intended to:

Selah is not a medical device and is not reviewed or approved by any medical regulator.

The AI Companion is software, not a professional

The "AI Companion" is an artificial-intelligence feature powered by a large language model. It is not a licensed therapist, psychologist, psychiatrist, counselor, social worker, or clergyperson, even if you give it a name or persona. Its responses are generated by software, may be inaccurate or incomplete, and should never be relied on as professional advice. The frameworks Selah references are presented for personal reflection and education, not as clinical treatment delivered to you.

The AI Companion does not provide diagnosis, treatment, clinical assessment, safety planning, or legal, financial, or pastoral counseling. Do not use the AI Companion to make decisions about medication, self-harm, abuse, violence, emergency care, or whether to start or stop professional treatment. Bring those decisions to a licensed professional.

Always consult a qualified professional

Selah is not a substitute for professional help. Always seek the advice of a licensed mental-health professional or physician with any questions about your mental health, emotional wellbeing, or a medical condition. Never disregard professional advice or delay seeking it because of something you read or were told in Selah. If you are currently under professional care, do not change your treatment based on Selah without consulting your provider.

Individual results vary

Spiritual practices and reflection exercises affect everyone differently. Selah makes no promise or guarantee of any particular outcome, improvement, or result. What helps one person may not help another.

If you are in crisis

Selah is not for emergencies. If you are thinking about harming yourself or someone else, or are in immediate danger, stop and get help now: call 911, call or text 988 (U.S. Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or text HOME to 741741 (Crisis Text Line). See the Crisis & Safety Disclaimer.

Your acknowledgment
